Hidden Star Orchards has been an integral part of the food community in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 20 years. With a unique mix of talents owners Johann and Wendy collaborate to bring their fruit grown in the Sierra Nevada foothills to Bay Area farmers' markets, restaurants and independent grocery stores. Apples, cherries, blueberries and pomegranates are the highlighted varieties.

In addition to fresh fruit Hidden Star Orchards' commitment to a zero-waste philosophy has led to the development of some very tasty fruit products. These include apple butter, applesauces, fruit extracts and most recently craft hard apple ciders.

Over the years Hidden Star Orchards has expanded business to include an urban agricultural hub in San Leandro, CA and a family friendly destination point in Camino, CA also known as Apple Hill.

Operations in San Leandro include cold storage for fresh and frozen fruit and a commercial kitchen and cidery where fruit products are made.

Hidden Star Camino

Hidden Star Camino is a taproom and bakery located in Camino, California. Its quaint barn taproom specializes in craft hard apple ciders and pours both glasses and flights from 24 varieties. Jarred fruits and sauces line the shelves. All of the hard apple ciders on tap are produced by Hidden Star Orchards at its cidery in San Leandro.

The bakery offers classic apple cider doughnuts, raised doughnuts, pastries, pies and a few savory options. Plenty of picnic tables and benches provide places to sit and enjoy the panoramic view. The children's play area under the pine trees is a great place for little ones to explore, expend energy and have fun! All well behaved dogs are welcome.

Hidden Star Camino is a member the Apple Hill Growers Association as Farm #23.

The Cider Barn taproom is open for tastings year round. No reservations required. Days and hours of operation for both the taproom and bakery are: Dec-Jun, Fri/Sat/Sun & holiday Mondays from 9am-5pm. Jul-Aug, Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun from 9am-6pm. Sep-Nov daily from 8am-6pm. Closed Thanksgiving & Christmas day.

"Cider Sunset" extended hours every Friday from May through August. The Cider Barn will be open until the sun goes down.

There is a $5 event parking fee on Fri/Sat/Sun during Apple Hill's Harvest Season from Sep 1st - Nov 30th.
